The PSCB - Custom Public Portal v2.1 is now available for download.

The customization is compatible with Powerschool versions 12.x thru 19.x. Integration with the PowerTeacher Pro grade book is also supported.

Installation of the PSCB - Base Resources v2.4 plugin is required.
Download the PSCB - Custom Public Portal (Overview/Instructions) document for installation guidance.

The initial release will not include:

Hi Guys,

Does this new version support the new contacts module in 19.4.X

Doug Robertson

The PSCB - Custom Public Portal v2.0 plugin does not include any pages which display contact information.

Not sure what you mean regarding support for the new contacts module in 19.4.X.

Hi Rob,
That is what I meant, any idea when the demog update and contacts could/would be available? My schools love this application and now with the advent of the new contacts I assume it is going to be quite the challenge!! Thanks again as this saves us a ton of paper

Doug Robertson

PSCB development will not be creating an update to the EPP 5.02 Demo Update plugin.

All of the school districts we currently work with are using 3rd party products to manage contact information. I would suggest you consider doing the same.

Hello,
I have followed the directions, downloaded both plugins and enabled them, but they still don't appear when I go to edit the parent/student access. I still only see the original two tabs. Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Molly

What version of PowerSchool are you running?

In trying to install the plugin I get the following error. Do I need to delete these files to make the install work?
Errors were found during plugin installation.

Plugin file contains a file that already exists: web_root/wildcards/pscb_pp_init.txt
Plugin file contains a file that already exists: web_root/guardian/nextyearschedule.html
Plugin file contains a file that already exists: web_root/guardian/bulletin2.html
Plugin file contains a file that already exists: web_root/guardian/honorroll.html

Plugin file contains a file that already exists: web_root/wildcards/pscb_pp_init.txt
This file is located in both BASE 2.4 and Public Portal v2.0

The PSCB - Base Resources v2.4 download link is located in two locations. First as a separate plugin and second as part of the PSCB - Custom Public Portal 2.0 plugin.

The plugin only needs to be installed one time. If you have previously installed the PSCB - Base Resources v2.4 for use with other PSCB customizations you do not need install it again for use of the PSCB - Custom Public Portal 2.0 plugin.

If you are receiving “Plugin file contains a file that already exists:” messages that is an indication that the PSCB - Base Resources v2.4 plugin is already installed.

Base resources was updated from 2.0 to 2.4 without issue, however when I tried to install the PSCB - Custom Public Portal 2.0 plugin I got these errors:
Errors were found during plugin installation.

Plugin file contains a file that already exists: web_root/guardian/myschedule.html
Plugin file contains a file that already exists: web_root/wildcards/pscb_pp_init.txt
Plugin file contains a file that already exists: web_root/guardian/schoolinformation.html

More than likely you installed the really old Parent Portal Customization before plugins. You should go into CPM and delete those three files. Then you can install the new CPP 2.0 plugin.

Thanks! It worked!

In the overview, I saw a note "Several pages will include column sorting and filtering". Is column sorting available on Historic Grades? I would really like my columns in a particular order rather than alphabetical.

In PSCB - Custom Public Portal v2.0 column sorting is currently available on the Historical Grades page. Clicking on the column heading allows the user to sort the column in ascending or descending order.

PSCB - Base Resources v 2.4 is required.

We are considering adding column filtering options to the page in the next release of the plugin.

Nice job. I needed the update!

Are there plans to include the Graduation Plan selection and viewing pages?

Thanks Sandy

PSCB Development is considering the addition of a Graduation Plan option to the PSCB - Public Portal plugin. No timetable has been determined at this time.

Very nice update, much appreciated :)
Are there any plans to add the GPA value to be displayed on the parent portal grades page?
Would there be any plans to show log entries with the ability to selectively show some logs (by type)?

Nicole May

The Current GPA can be displayed on the Grades and Attendance page.

Navigate to School Setup / Parent/Student Access / Available Features / Current GPA.

PSCB Development has no plans to include Log Entries in the PSCB - Custom Public Portal plugin.

Good Afternoon,
I have installed the EPP 2.0 and the 2.4 Base and inside the PSJ-Runtime logs I am seeing

Anybody else experience this on their server? I can see in CPM that the files show in the webroot directory

Love the enhancement.

You have installed the EPP 2.0 plugin. This older plugin is not fully compatible with Powerschool versions 12.x + and is no longer being supported on PDS.

You should delete the EPP 2.0 plugin and install the following plugins.

PSCB - PSCB - Custom Public Portal v2.0
PSCB - Base Resources V2.4

I am sorry. My mind is thinking EPP however I do have the PSCB - Custom Public Portal and the 2.4 PSCB - Base Resources installed and we are getting those errors in the logs.

What version of Powerschool is installed on your server?

Hello. I was able to install the plugin. When I log in it still looks and feels like the "old" portal. I have a feeling I have to remove something else - maybe some customization?
Wish I could include a screen shot so you can see the visual.

You may still have some old EPP wildcard files installed on the server.
Open CPM and navigate to the wildcards folder.
Search for and delete the following files.

guardian_header_yui.epp.leftnav.footer.txt
guardian_header.epp.leftnav.footer.txt

I tried to install PSCB - Base Resources v2.4.zip and PSCB - Custom Public Portal v2.0.zip. The Base Resources v2.4 uploaded successfully but the Custom Public Portal would not install. Received a message that stated plugin file contains a file that already exists: web_root/wildcards/pscb_pp_init.txt
This file is located in both BASE 2.4 and Public Portal v2.0. I was going to delete the previous file but none found. Please help.

Sharon Frost

Download and install the PSCB - Custom PublicPortal V2.1 plugin.

The installation should now be error free.

I am receiving the following errors when trying to install the newest version.

Errors were found during plugin installation.

I tried disabling version 1.0 and the old EPP but still get the errors. Any ideas as to what is going on?

Plugin file contains a file that already exists: web_root/wildcards/pscb_pp_init.txt
Plugin file contains a file that already exists: web_root/guardian/nextyearschedule.html
Plugin file contains a file that already exists: web_root/guardian/bulletin2.html
Plugin file contains a file that already exists: web_root/guardian/honorroll.html

Peter Lutchko

Login into CPM and delete the previously customized files in the guardian folder:

nextyearschedule.html
bulletin2.html
honorroll.html

Download and install PSCB - Custom PublicPortal V2.1.

The installation should now be error free.

Is there any way to add the ability to hide the percent grade by section or grade level?
This plugin is wonderful!

Disabling final grades by section in the Parent Portal is not currently an Powerschool option.
