PDS Socialization
Power Data Solutions felt like we needed to join the social world before we get too far behind (and someone stole our name or something) so we created a facebook page and a twitter page. On facebook we are Power Data Solutions (real original) and on twitter we are pdstweets. We're still learning how to do this but hopefully this will add ways for you to find out what we are up to as we continue to develop customizations and services to help schools work the best that they can.

Help with custom pages, please
We recently had to do a flashback restore on our system and now our custom pages and our reports bundle no longer show up.
I have tried toggling the enable customizations off and on with no success.
We are on an array and I have checked the path from customshare/admin/student/studentpages or reports as the case may be and the pages are there.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks, Teresa P
RE: Help with custom pages, please
Could be an issue with the array itself and the sharepoint not being seen. You may want to check to be sure the sharepoint settings all got restored and are working properly and you may need to restart the array by restarting the servers in order.

RE: help with custom pages...
Do you have custom page management (CPM) enabled or are you using the original way of accessing your custom pages which is through the file system? If you are using CPM and you did a flashback then there might have been something that occurred when doing the flashback. But this information would help us to start determining what might be the problem.
Custom Pages disappeared
We looked at the sharepoint and took the servers down in the correct order. We do have customization enabled and usually go straight to the server to manage the custom pages. However, at PSU, we learned how to go through Administrator and the application configuration.
When I looked there, none of our custom pages are present. I took one of our custom pages on the server and manually uploaded it to the application configuration. When I enable customization again, it showed up!
.When I tried to do the migration again to have all the pages reappear it didn't work. I have a summer school server and tried the migration there and they all came over.
We have quite a few custom pages and reports, thanks to PowerData Solutions. Is there anyway to migrate or will we have to put all the files back in manually? Do you know why that would happen the files would have disappeared?
RE: Custom Pages disappeared
You better check with support on why the pages aren't migrating. When the pages are migrated they're stored in the database and the custom web root on the server is ignored, so if you do a flashback or restore to a time before you started using the custom web page management, then you won't have custom pages in it. For example, if you started using the custom web page management feature on Tuesday, but do a flashback or restore to Monday, then you won't have any pages if you enable custom web page management after the restore. But if you flashbacked to a point after you starting using it then I would think they would be restore as well but maybe not.
