Can the "Attendance Changes" screen work for Meeting Attendance?

The Attendance Changes - Meeting page is currently under development. It will be included in the next update of the PSCB Customization (Std Att Pages) plug-in. Scheduled release date is set for the end of July.

After install, the 18-19 tab doesn't show the correct number of calendar days, and individual absences, although listed on the 18-19 screen, are not being included in the totals.

Are the plugins with PSCB only for the state of NJ or should they work for any PowerSchool district? I installed the base and then installed the Student Attendance plugin. It showed all of my years except 2017-2018 and the current year, 2018-2019. What would cause that?

PSCB plugins are designed to work for all school districts. The Student Attendance Info page should display the 18-19 tab on the start date for the 2018-2019 school year.

What are your school start dates for 2017-2018 and 2018-2019?

I'm loving the idea of this plugin but as it is right now, my schools just won't get a lot from it.
-One thing is the date tabs are very confusing. It looks like tabs only appear for students who have or had absences reported during a tabbed year. It would be nice if all tabs for all year showed for every student regardless if they had absences/lates or not.
-Another thing would be nice if we could have the option to turn off the Meeting Attendance Points tab completely since our county does not use attendance points.
-Lastly, is the whole reason I installed this in the first place was to be able to view Attendance Changes that you mentioned earlier was in development. I actually think I'm going to disable this plugin and wait until an upgrade comes out that will be more user friendly for my county.
Thanks

The next release of the PSCB - Customization (Student Attendance Pages) plugin will include an update to the year tabs display. The update will be published next week.

The latest release (version 1.4) was published on 7/20/18 and includes your recent enhancement request.
The Attendance Changes page now lists all daily and meeting attendance changes. The list can also be sorted by attendance type.

There are no current plans to provide an option for turning off the Attendance Points page.

Thanks for your continued input. Very much appreciated.

We are trying to run the report for those are chronically absent, but it is pulling students that have been unenrolled from school, but we need to be able to save their attendance data. Are we able to have this report filter so that only students with an enrollment status as 0 pull? Thank you!

Question 1: I just upgraded to v1.5 of this plugin on my test site, and although I'm seeing absences from 18-19 when I click on the "Attendance Info" from the leftnav, I don't see a tab for it. I don't see a tab for 17-18 at all. I do, however, have years and data for both. Am I missing something? I have v1.6 of the Base Resources.

Question 2: Is there a way to disable the Attendance Info from view for certain security groups without using a page fragment to hide it?

Question 1
Tabs should appear for all years the student was enrolled at school in the district. Are missing year tabs occurring for all students or just a few?

Question 2
You can use Page Permissions to determine which security groups have access to the Attendance Info Page.

We have installed PSCB - Customization (Std Att Pages) v1.5.zip. The tab and attendance information for 17-18 is missing for most students. The tab and attendance information for 17-18 displays only for students who were new students in 17-18. It is missing for students who were enrolled before 17-18 and continue to be enrolled.
(It is a GREAT report is the missing tab can be restored.)

I have not seen the issue you have described in any of 30+ school districts that test the PSCB reports. If you want you can send me an email request and we could schedule a conference call for next week to explore the issue in greater detail.

I need to know how to get access to Blue Steel CPM. I do not know what the login is.

Hello,

Does anyone know why some students will show a negative number under "Days absent" and other will show a whole number?

We also have students who are showing say a -2 under "Days absent" but do not have any absent codes entered.

I am trying to install this plugin and I am getting the message that several pages it is installing already exist. Is there a previous plugin with a different name that this is updating?

You need to manually delete the indicated files from CPM before installing the plugin.

I looked at code in att_daily.html
I may have found an error in line 77 below Begin Dynamic Year Tabs

Line is "SELECT TO_CHAR(EntryDate, 'YY') - CASE WHEN To_Number(To_Char(EntryDate, 'MM')) BETWEEN 1 AND 7 THEN 1 ELSE 0 END AcaYera FROM reenrollments WHERE StudentID = ~(curstudid))"

In other lines the name is "AcaYear"

Obviously, I do not know much...

Thank you noting the typo in the att_daily.html file. The error has been corrected.

The PSCB - Customization (Student Attendance Pages) plugin has been updated to version 1.6. Please let me know if this latest release addresses the issue you encountered.

I noticed that the same typo appeared in att_meeting.html in v1.6. I corrected this typo in the Plugin v1.6 before I installed. (I had deleted v1.5 before installation.) The result is the same. The 17-18 tab displays only for students whose first year of school enrollment is 17-18. It is missing for all students who were enrolled before 17-18 and continue to be currently enrolled. I have looked in our Reenrollment table. I do not see any differences in these students records. If it works for all others, it must be our unique issue.

Thank you for looking at this. Happy Thanksgiving.

This report looks great except all our students have absences showing even if they've not missed any days for the year - and there are no absences entered in meeting attendance either. Where are these absences pulling from? It appears to be adding 4 absences to every student in our middle and high school (they use both meeting and daily)
Thanks

Check your Calendar setup for days that are configured incorrectly.

Review the Calendar Setup for the following :

Cycle Day
Bell Schedule
School In Session
Membership Value

Hi,

Quick question. If we have our attendance conversions set up, can we view the daily attendance on the student attendance page? We tried and it seems that some students work, but others don't. They actually show up with negative numbers in the daily.

Thanks in advance.

Ted

Confirm that the FTEID and Membership values assigned to each student are correct. Also check your school calendar setup.

This was working beautifully. Not sure why but year tab display last year (17-18) but lists this years (18-19) attendance. I have a handful of students that are correct but more than half with this issue. Any suggestions?

M. Jane Brooks

It seems that the system is having issues generating the year tabs based on the PowerSchool system date. This can occur when you are in between school years. Some things to consider.

- Has your current school year ended?
- If yes, have you completed the year end process for 2018-2019?
- If you are between school years, which preference have you set for Default Term When Between School Years?
- Has the 2019-2020 year been setup in Years and Terms for 2019?

When installing this I get 4 lines of errors due to files existing in web_root/admin/students/att...
Could this be due to this plugin: PSCB - Cust Att Reports and Screens? It is older.

Those older files should be deleted from CPM, before installing the PSCB - Customization (Student Attendance Pages) plugin.

Thanks, I deleted the old and installed the new.

Where are the files? I get the same
Errors were found during plugin installation.
Plugin file contains a file that already exists: web_root/admin/students/att_meeting.html

Those older files should be deleted from CPM, before installing the PSCB - Customization (Student Attendance Pages) plugin.

I am having issues with my 19-20 tab only displaying for new students but not returning students. Has anyone had this issue?

M. Jane Brooks

What is the 2019 -2020 start date for the school?
What is the current year enrollment start date for each student.

The 19-20 tab should appear on the first day the school is in session.

I have different schools in my district that start at different times. I am looking at one school, Chase City. The start date is 7/1/19-6/30/20. Student enrollment date is 7/1/19.
The students attendance page just show 18-19 | 17-18 tabs. I could send you a screen shot.

M. Jane Brooks

What is the date of your school's first day in session? The 19-20 tab should appear when that date has been reached.

The reason the 19-20 tab is not appearing at this time is the result of the student's enrollment date (7/1/2019) not being the same as the date for the first day the school is in session.

--
Rob Staats
PSCB Development

The enrollment date and the students enrollment date are the same, 07/01/2019. I don't understand the comment above.

M. Jane Brooks

What is the first date that school is in session for the 2019-2020 school. If it is not the same as the student's current year enrollment date (example - student enrollment date: 7/1/2019 / first date school is in session: 9/5 2019) the 19-20 tab will not appear until the first day of school.

--
Rob Staats
PSCB Development

The first day of school is 7/1/2019. The student enrollment date is 7/1/2019. School started on 7/1/2019 so I do not understand why the tabs do not show up.

M. Jane Brooks

I love the Student Attendance Info page. I am trying to work with a specific maximum number of days and am wondering if there is a report associated with the Student Attendance Info page, Daily tab, where the data totaled at the bottom can be extracted per student, per year?

The report you are requesting is not available at this time.

Our current year it calculating in dates out of the current year. The first day of school was 8/19 and I am seeing attendance from July listed. How can I get that removed? Thanks

Did you run a summer school during this past July?
