This is fantastic! I got it working for our district, but I did have one question: Is the report card visible on PowerTeacher anywhere? Thanks!

The student report card is not currently available in PowerTeacher. This request has been added to the PSCB enhancement list.

I have them selected to be disabled but I can still see them. I just updated to make sure I was on the most current version and still no luck.

The Custom Public Portal student report card is currently being updated to include the new features recently added to the Admin side student report card.

The teacher comments issue will be addressed in the next release, scheduled for Mid-November.

That's great to hear!
Would it be possible to turn off just Standards and not Grading? Our K-5 uses Standards and Parent's can always see them. But we don't want to turn Grading off, because 6-8 need to look at assignments. Might not be possible, but I figure it never hurts to ask!

The Hide/Show options are school based. They can not be set for specific grades levels.

We are currently using version 1.0 and went to update the Custom Public Portal to the current version and got the following error:

Errors were found during plugin installation.

Plugin file contains a file that already exists: web_root/guardian/bulletin2.html
Plugin file contains a file that already exists: web_root/guardian/honorroll.html

Any suggestions?

Delete v1.0 and install PSCB - Custom Public Portal v2.6.

If you still get the error message, you will need to use CPM to first delete the files then install v2.6.

I have installed plugin, stored grades, enabled the report card, but do not see report card in parent portal. What else can I do to view the report card? Thank you

For each school:

Navigate to School / Parent Student Access.
Click on the CCP Settings Tab.
Confirm that the Report Card option is Enabled (On).
Click on Enter CPP Report Card preferences.
Enter the Report Card preferences you want.

Also confirm that you have also installed the PSCB - Base Resources plugin.

I have installed the Custom Portal and set it up at my high school to Edit for course requests. When I enable the setting, my Class Registration icon disappears. I have read the earlier comments and verified that EPP is not installed. I also went into PowerScheduler and verified that Registration is enabled for the student/parent portal and that it is pointing to the active build. Could there be another setting preventing this from displaying?

We have introduced DP and DA this year for Distance Learning Present and Distance Learning Absent. These are in addition to the default present and traditional absent codes. On the Public Portal though DP is being counted as absent in the Historical Attendance tab. It is not in any of the in school attendance reports though, just on the Public Portal. How can I fix that? Thank you!

Jeanne Corcoran
South Orangetown School District

If the DP code is counting as an absence, that would indicate that an Attendance Conversion value was not entered for the new code.

Navigate to: Start Page > School Setup > Attendance Conversions

Confirm that the Attendance Code Values have been defined correctly.

When completed run Refresh Premier Attendance Views Data function.

PSCB ver 2.6 Custom Public Portal - my grades and attendance can see 2 different screens. is this because i have an older version still active?
first screen displays courses and 2 weeks attendance and can only be seen by clicking on the grades and attendance icon.
then clicking on the tab 'grades and attendance ' displays 2 weeks attendance, courses, terms/grades, total Absents and Tardies.
thanks.

Don Clark

thanks for the info

Don Clark

If you are seeing two different screens, it would indicate that you have multiple customizations of the guardian home.html file installed on the server

Use CPM to search for conflicts.

Hello and thank you for all your great work! Does this Public Portal allow students/parents to see Teacher Recommendations for the upcoming scheduling year? I can't seem to find it and that is really all I want to be able to do. Thank you in advance.

The PSCB - Custom Public Portal contains an option for displaying teacher recommendations for the next year schedule.

After installing the plugin navigate to School Setup / Parent/Student Access.
Click on the CPP Page Settings tab.

A list of options for displaying pages in the Public Portal including Course (Teacher) recommendations will appear..

I have an icon on the left menu that reads "Re-enrollment Registration 2020-2021" Can I change this?

This is not a PSCB button. It most likely the result of a third party app customization such as School Messenger or other registrations programs.

We have a very time-sensitive problem where our new parent account creation email verifications are not working correctly. Parents DO receive the verification email, but when they click the link to verify, they get routed to the Powerschool login screen as they should be and then when they try to log in they receive the following message:

"Powerschool account email has not been verified. Click here to resent a new account verification email."

If they use the link in this screen to try again, obviously the same thing happens, and it just becomes a vicious circle.

We are running PowerSchool 20.4.5

We are using the PSCB Custom Parent Portal (Base version 3.0, CPP version 2.6) from PowerData Solutions.

If we turn off ALL customizations, it DOES work. (Hence, no help from PowerSchool!)

IMPORTANT: If we turn off the custom parent portal, however, that does NOT solve the problem. So I'm not saying that the issue IS the portal. Just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience with their portal or has any ideas!

Exploring the ideas of turning off all of our many other plugins one at a time, or looking for an old code fragment from pre-plugin days (as we've had a few issues with those in the past) but would welcome any suggestions on where to look or how to work around this temporarily.

Good Afternoon...are we aware of any issue with this plugin not allowing edits to be made for Class Registration in the Parent/Student portal?

Just received information that this is a version issue in 20.11.0.0 and has been resolved in 20.11.0.1 which we will upgrade to.

We set setup the student registration screens in PowerScheduler and checked the boxes to make them available in the parent/student portal. However when I log in as a student, I am not seeing those screens to pick classes? Is there another setting I need to touch?
Thank you.

Navigate to: Start Page > School Setup > Parent/Student Access
Click on the CPP Page Settings tab.
Navigate to the Schedule Options section.
Confirm that option for Student Schedule Request is set to "Edit".

This is really odd. PS version 20.11.0.1. PSCB - Custom Public Portal is version 2.6 with 3.0 Base. I have a student at one of our high schools that cannot get to the Class Registration link. The screen is turned on in PowerScheduler for the grade level. The setting is turned on in Custom Public Portal. Scheduling Setup screen is properly set for student. Student logs in, clicks on Class Registration and gets a page that says, "Information Not Available" and then another message below that says, "Display of Grades and Attendance has been disabled by the student's school.". I have tried another student in the same grade, at the same school, with the same settings, and it works fine for them. If I turn CPP off in Plugin Management, then I can get into Class Registration. So far this is the only student I have found like this. Any ideas as to where I can look?

Select the Student.
Select Access Accounts from` the student navigation menu.
Confirm that "Enable Student Access" and "Enable Parent Access" are both checked.

Note: A student is not allowed access to the registration page if parent access is off.

Also confirm that "Schedule this Student" is checked on the Scheduling Setup page.

All checked out. The student can get onto the portal. They can go to the other areas of the portal, but when clicking on the Class Registration, it brings them to the page unavailable screen. Schedule this Student is checked, Next year grade matches the screen that is in PowerScheduler that is turned on and the next year school is correct. (Compared all of this with a student in the same school, same grade, who can get onto the Class Registration page) You can modify requests from the administration side and if you turn off the plugin, the student can get to the registration screen just fine. There is something very specific with this student, I just don't know where to look next.

Hello - we love the online report card for our students but today I found I had to disable the PSCB Custom Public Portal in order for the "class registration" button to appear for our student to start registering for classes for 21-22. Any way this could be fixed? Thank you for your customizations.

PSCB CPP PublicPortal - Class Registration Setup

Confirm that PSCB - Custom Public Portal v2.6 is installed and enabled.

Confirm the following for all students
Enable Student Access" and "Enable Parent Access" are both checked.
Schedule this Student is checked on the Scheduling Setup page.

Navigate to: Start Page > School Setup > Parent/Student Access
Click on the CPP Page Settings tab.
Navigate to the Schedule Options section.
Confirm that the option for Student Schedule Request is set to "Edit".

Navigate to PowerScheduler/Screen Setup
For each Grade Level - Confirm the following:
PowerSchool Admin Portal is checked
PowerSchool Student and Parent Portal is checked

Thank you Rob
The "Confirm that the option for Student Schedule Request is set to "Edit" was set to Hide. Once I changed that it displayed as expected. Thanks for this update. I will add to my scheduling notes for next year!

In the PSCB Custom Public Portal document - page 4 - I assumed if I entered the Terms - it would break down the daily attn by quarters and display that on the Report card. But instead it seems to be a YDT for all quarters entered. What am I missing? I went through this document for setup and can't seem to figure this out. Any help would be great.

From the Start page navigate to: School Setup > Years & Terms
Click on Edit Terms for the 2020-2021 year.
Confirm that you created Quarter Terms and Dates.

I noticed that others were having the same issue. I am not able to find the html's in my CPM.

Errors were found during plugin installation.

I have updated all of the PSCB plugins, I am on version 20.4.5 of PowerSchool. Any help would be appreciated.

The error indicates that a version of the file exists from older plugin. You need to delete the previous file using CPM.

My district is wanting to allow students to register through PowerScheduler for the first time. I have installed and enabled PSCB - Base Resources v3.0 and PSCB - Custom Public Portal v2.3. I have changed CPP Custom Settings to "Edit," and ensured that Parent/Student Portals are enabled, set up the course registration screens and enabled them, and ensured that students are checked to be scheduled for next year. The Class Registration tab does not show in the portal at all. What else can I try?

Confirm that schedule year in PowerSchedule is set to 2021-2022.
Also confirm that the 2021-2022 school has been created for all schools included in the scheduling process.

If the issue still remains we can schedule a Zoom session to investigate further. If interested send you contact info to pscb.development@gmail.com.

We have it installed and it is blocking the Class Registration page from loading properly. The student request screen won't show up. Any thoughts?

This indicates that you most likely have a previously customized request form.html file in the guardian folder. Use CPM to remove the custom version.

Good Afternoon...could you possibly share the fields that you use to pull the Transportation information into the public portal? We are attempting to customize our student ribbon to pull route number and special instructions and have not been successful. Any guidance you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Deb McMullen

The Public Portal displays the same information that is displayed on the Student transportation page. These fields are from the Transportation table, not the Student table. Use the PowerSchool Data Dictionary to see list of fields contained in the Transportation table.

Thank you....we did use the Data Dictionary, along with looking at the fields in the Data Export Manager for the Transportation table but were not successful. Reached out to PS Support and they were kind enough to work with me even though it was a customization but had the same result that we did. A bit perplexing.

Deb - Contact me to schedule a Zoom conference to discuss this issue.

When I turn on CPP I can't see Class Registration. It is there momentarily, but gets covered up by the Course Recommendations icon. But when I turn off Course Recommendations, it still doesn't show.
This is really problematic.
Any suggestions?
