Description

This plugin is an update/enhancement to previously release versions.

The customization adds an Academics: Attendance Info link to the student navigation menu and provides tab access to four Student Attendance pages.

Corrected an issue where the 19-20 Daily Attendance tab did not appear for schools with a July start date.

Additional Plugin Requirement

The following PSCB plugin should be installed prior to the installation of this customization.

PSCB - Base Resources 3.2

Installation

Install in System > System Settings > Plugin Management Configuration

Do not unzip the plugin. Install the entire zip file. Be sure to enable the plugin once it's installed.

If you are updating.
Click on the Plugin name and chose the Update button.
Browse to select the new file and click Submit.
Enable the plugin.

Instructions

Select a school and go to the Powerschool start page.

Select a student.

Click the Academics: Attendance Info link located on the student navigation menu.

I am having this same issue and am also in NC and wondered if you had figured this out. We are on version 19.4 and when you click on Attendance Info it takes a very long time to pull that page. You see Waiting on powerschool.xxxxxx.com for several minutes before the page displays and it does the same thing when you click the tab for a prior year. I updated the customization to version 1.9 but it is still doing the same thing.

This delay could be related to a server performance issue. Ask you PowerSchool server admin to check the server memory and disk storage status.

The 1.9 update now displays 17-18 correctly for all students!! (I posted about many missing 17-18 in November 2018.) Thank you!

"Attendance Changes" is not working for any of our schools - all are Meeting Attendance.

I learned that we need to have "Audit attendance records" box checked under Start Page > School Setup > Attendance Preferences for every school. It works in our test system when we make this change. Thank you.

Hello,

I have this installed for 2 schools. On the Daily Attendance tab for one school, it does not show the Days Absent / Present / Membership / Enrolled Tracking at all. The other school shows this tracker but it shows every student absent for 100% of the days and also has incorrect Membership and Enrolled numbers. Could I have set something up different and incorrect for these two schools?

Bell Schedule
School In Session
Membership Value

Also confirm that the FTEID and Membership values assigned to each student are correct. Also

So I managed to fix the membership values. But For one of the schools, I am still not seeing the Days Absent | Days Present | Days Membership | and Days Enrolled menu.

Compare the setups in each school and try determine the differences that exist in the school that is missing the attendance information.

Hi Team,
Is there a way to add a Days On time to the Attendance Info page. Our attendance is pretty good, but are continuing to have issues around tardies and would love to be able to quickly see that percent next to a students name. Thanks!

First, we love your reports and our secretaries use them daily. I've noticed a discrepancy, I have a student who has not been absent all year and she is showing that she has been absent 2 days. Other students who have been absent seem to have their number of absences inflated by 2 days as well.

Thoughts?

I have seen the issue you are encountering in numerous school districts. In all cases it was related to an incorrect attendance setup item.

The key to find the attendance setup error that exists.

The incorrect values you are seeing are the not related to any PSCB page or report.

Student shows info in Daily Attendance Summary under the 18/19 tab. She has only one day with an absent code but under the top Daily Attendance Summary, it says Days Absent 47, Days Present 8178, Days Membership 8225, Days Enrolled 8225.
What? Where is this pulling from?
I also see that some of my schools have info in this field and others do not. Is that the Audit attendance records check box under Attendance Preferences?

First - Refresh Premier Attendance Views Data to see updated totals.
From the start page Navigate to Functions/Attendance Functions/Refresh Premier Attendance Views Data.

If you continue see incorrect values that would indicate that your Daily Attendance Setup for that year and school was not complete properly.

Attendance Conversion Setup
Attendance Codes Setup

Is there anything in the works to get these pages on the student side? Additionally, can we add in the attendance comment field? We add when students swipe into school into the comment, so it would allow admin and parents to monitor entry into the building. Thank you!

A student Attendance History page is already included in the PSCB Custom Public Portal 2.3 plugin

Since attendance comments can be sensitive in nature, PSCB has no plans to include attendance comments on the public page.

Feel free to modify the page to meet your districts's needs.

I just installed this and followed all instructions. I do not have an Attendance Info tab on the left nav for students.

This is most likely the result of having a customized more2.html file in the student folder on the the server.

Using CPM navigate to the admin/students folder. Check to see if the more2.html has been customized. If customized, make a backup and temporally delete the custom file.

The Attendance Info icon should now appear.

Hello. We are on PS Version 20.4. We have PSCB-Customization (Std Att Pages) version 1.9 installed. Two of our users are getting a 404 error consistently when they select "Attendance Info". Is this report compatible with PS version 20.4? If yes, would you have any trouble-shooting suggestions to figure out why they are getting a 404 error?

Version 1.9 is compatible with 20.4. Try clearing the browser cache for those two users. Also try using a different browser.

If only two users are experiencing this issue, it not related to the customization itself.

I was having an issue where I was missing some of my yearly tabs but upgrading from 1.6 to 1.9 fixed the issue. Thank you for that version upgrade.

We've been on PS for 3 years and I'm still seeing some strange data in the 18-19 year (our first year on PowerSchool). Here's an example

Days Absent Days Present Days Membership Days Enrolled
132 (0.9)% 14740 (99.1)% 14872 14872

Further down the page the Daily Attendance list is correct, but the summary is showing that strange data. Any idea what might be causing this?

Meeting Attendance Frequency is not pulling multiple selections. If you select 3 attendance codes, its only pulling on the first code selected in the list, not all three. You can search them individually, but its taking 4 times as long to determine the frequency when having to search one code at a time. It worked fine until that last plugin update.

This would indicate that the Refresh Premier Attendance Views Data function is not updated correctly.

Several school district have reported this issue to us. The response from PowerSchool support was:

The reason this is happening is because while you are on the latest version of PS you haven't yet been moved to Oracle 19.

Navigate to: Start Page > School Setup > Attendance Preference.
Confirm that the "Audit attendance records" box is checked.

At the District Level
Navigate to: Start Page >District > System Administrator > System Settings > Change History Settings

Hello, Would this be a good add-on to display total students in school versus students in attendance? Calculated in a percentage.

E.G.
o K-8: AM attendance as a percentage of students in attendance compared to the expected attendance
 So, if the school has 400 of 435 students present based on Monday AM’s homeroom attendance, they would report as 92.0% (400/435)when we update on Tuesday morning.

o 9-12: Period 1 attendance as a percentage of students in attendance compared to the expected attendance.
