To Host or be Hosted

Hi All!
This is my first post here so, I wasn;t sure if this was the appropriate place but I have question. I currently work for a Charter Management Organization and we currently have 10 PowerSchool instances which hold 21 schools across various states. Our instances are currently Pearson hosted and our company has decided that we would like to now be self hosted. What are you thoughts? Are there more benefits either way? We will also be opening new schools in a new state this summer so 11 instances.
