How can I pull both current and stored grades into a template

I have an export template set up that my guidance counselors use for leveling, but they have to input the current grades by hand. I would love to be able to pull the current grades out using the template for them, but have been unsuccessful figuring out how to do it.
Any suggestions?
I presently pull out course information, (teacher, stored grade), but they use this information together with a "mid point" grade that I capture on a certain date during the marking period..... and would love it if I could get it to export into the same template.
