Removing old Customizations - Enhanced Parent Portal

I inherited a heavily customized PowerSchool installation, and I'm now trying to remove old customizations and replace them with newer, plugin-ized versions. The good news is that the Enhanced Parent Portal has a fantastic plugin. The bad news is that I can't seem to find any info on what it used to look like (e.g., it was these custom files and these code/html blocks pasted into files a, b, and c). Is there a guide for removing the old pre-plugin stuff before we install plugins? I'd prefer to avoid reverse-engineering if I can. Thanks.

Another user in my local PSUG has shared the original 3.3.2 version of the EPP, so I've been able to "decustomize." I'll post results after this works its way from dev/test to Production.
